ALFANO JOINS CAREER MANAGEMENT AS VICE PRESIDENT OF
NEWLY-CREATED SUPERMARKET BUSINESS UNIT
EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. (6/10/08)-Joseph Alfano has joined Career Management, an executive search firm specializing in the retail, catalog and e-commerce industries, as vice president of the newly-created supermarket business unit.
In his role, the veteran of supermarket, warehouse club and specialty foods retailing will be responsible for new business development and management recruitment in the retail and wholesale sectors of the grocery industry.
Alfano, a resident of Cranbury, N.J., most recently spent 10 years in management positions with BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc., Natick, Mass. This followed 10 years with Shop Rite Supermarkets, Inc., Edison, N.J., where he served as a district manager for seven locations with a combined annual sales volume of more than $220 million. Earlier in his career, Alfano was divisional operations director for Murry’s Steaks, Forrestville, Md., responsible for the daily operations of a 22-unit division of frozen food specialty stores, and also owned and operated an independent grocery store in Hoboken, N.J.
